Sleep Paralysis
Ever heard of this term "Sleep Paralysis"? Well, in short, it is a condition that you find yourself unable to move or speak while awake, and sometimes, with paranormal encounters.
Why am I talking about this today? Easy, for the past 1.5 months, I've experienced that for at least 3 times, and my mom, at least twice. If you read the link above, you will find out that there are different stages of sleep, "Deep Sleep", "Light Sleep" and "Rapid Eye Movements".
According to a doctor, some causes of Sleep Paralysis includes having a heavy meal before sleeping, not enough fluid before sleep, lack of sleep, jet lag and so on.
Let me share with you 2 out of my 3 recent encounters (as the 2nd one wasn't "ghostly" at all). My first encounter was on April's Fool night (at about 1 am). It was during my uncle's funeral and I thought I would lie down on my bed for awhile before heading down for my "shift" to look after the funeral area. It was within a short period of 30 minutes on my bed when all these happened.
I couldn't move but usually a person experiencing it will be unable to speak as well, however, for my case, it was a little different, I could say my prayers, and that was the only voice that came out of me. I had a little struggle that night and finally I was able to turn my body, but I black out straight after that for a few good seconds, and in my semi awake state (I can't move after that turn, mind you), I saw a figure standing right in the middle of my room.
It was a tall and slim man in a pants, however, I can only see him from shoulder down. The older folks in my family went on and on about what I've seen and debated and finally came to a conclusion that it was my grandfather that I "saw", after all, my grandfather lived and died peacefully in my current room, before I was born.
My third encounter was about the same, but it was a lot less dramatic. All I saw was a brown patch floating from my foot to next to my face and started brushing against my face.
During this period of time, my mom also had a few encounters of being pressed down while she's awake and she woke up screaming at least twice, in the middle of the night, which scared the hell out of everyone at home.
Well, while you continue on your debates on whether it was a ghostly encounter or a medically provable condition, I will like to tell you what I just found out. My sister's boyfriend has been seeing a slim old man (A description that matched with my grandfather, who died before I was born) around my house, in the living room and the kitchen. Scary or what?!
